The Spirit of Elijah

  “As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet:  “A voice of one calling in the desert, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”  Luke 3:4 (NIV)

  John The Baptist went out to prepare the way for the Lord.  He preached “….Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”  (Mat 3:2, NIV)  He was making a way for the Lord to come.  I believe we are in a season similar to this, prophetically speaking.  I believe that the Lord’s return is near.  It is my belief that God is calling on His children to make a way for Him.  Central to this preparing is preaching repentance.  This message is in dire need in the American church where lukewarmness has become the norm.  This message appears to be going forth throughout the world.  There are people who are being persecuted because of the Gospel of Christ.  These saints need prayer, and frankly, the world is not worthy of these dear ones.  The American church could learn a lot from the mighty servants of God.

Ezekiel 13:10 & 11  “Because they lead my people astray, saying “Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, therefore, tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall.  Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth.”  (NIV)

Briefly, I will expound upon the prophetic picture in this scripture as applied to today’s events.  I believe God is speaking to Israel today through this scripture.  This message has implications for all of the nations.  In Israel, they are literally erecting a wall around their land in order to try to obtain some level of peace.  Everywhere around the world is “peace” being uttered regarding Israel and the middle east; however, there really is no peace.  I believe that this is a season where God is speaking to Israel declaring that their walls are flimsy.  Anything that man trusts in other than God is foolish.  The walls that Israel has erected will fall.  All things that man trusts in other than God will ultimately fall away.       

.  I would like to encourage all to remember to pray for Israel.  CBN News - Dividing the Land, Dishonoring God’s Covenant  This is an interesting article that speaks to land for peace policies and the danger therein.  I pray that America would honor God lest America opposes Him and risks judgment.

CBN News - The Terrifying Resurgence of European Anti-Semitism  This article details how hatred of Jews is on the rise.  If it ever really declined.  This evil is still present regardless whether people admit it or not.  In light of the Shiavo case in America, much prayer is needed as a lack of respect for humans is becoming more acceptable by standards of this world.  

The War for America's Soul  by Brandon Burton.  This paper focuses on the current struggle for the soul of America.  Scriptures are presented that deal with what God says about death and murder.  Background is the Terri Schiavo case.

America, Will You Continue to Refuse God?  This is the beginning of what is planned to be a series of messages from Jeremiah.  I believe Jeremiah is a warning and call to repentance to America today.   Added 29 Jan 2005
